LATE BREAKING NEWS (August 10th, 2007): The Proles are in the midst of recording new demos for a late October/early November 2007 release on Gremlin Records / SONY BMG.
The Proles' two releases - "Good In Black And White" and "Index" - are available exclusively at CD BABY and, of course, the band's shows.
The
Proles recorded two special songs - "All Your Cousins" and "The
Right Time" - with Jeff Saltzman (Killers, Low
Flying Owls, Boy Skout, etc) in Oakland, California. Both songs are
featured only on the Americans Are Coming Recordings "Talent
Show" Compilation (AAC 015) which is only $5 postpaid by e-mailing blackfish70@aol.com.
Check out this great write-up from the S.F. Bay Examiner:
"The Proles insist their moody, pop-rock blend can't be summed up in a single word like 'indie' and cite The Beatles, The Clash, The Smiths, Fugazi and Nirvana as just a few of their varying influences. But what the members of the Sacramento boy quartet fail to realize is that, while these bands covered a vast amount of ground stylistically, they shared a working class background and an unaffected, heart-on-the-sleeve quality that endeared them to fans, as do The Proles." - Bill Picture /Features Reporter
The song "Man in the Middle" from the album "Index" was featured in an episode of the hit TV series Queer
as Folk. Songs were also used on MTV's Viva La Bam, Fuel TV (Tony Hawk's Huck Jam), and more.

Proles - Index (The Americans Are Coming)
"This Sacramento-area band debuts with an excellent mini-album
of driving indie-rock that at times recalls rock luminaries like the
Strokes, Spoon, the Police and the Replacements." -- Don Yates
